5 Ways to Build Your Team’s Capacity

Your team is a vital organ in the body of your organization! If you already know that then you also know that you must keep nourishing the vital organs, not only to keep them healthy but also, provide the right environment for functioning at the most efficient and effective level.

Here are 5 ways to build your team's capacity and help your organization thrive:

  1. Expectations: As the leader set clear, specific and easy to remember expectations

  2. Create a Learning Environment : Set the stage as the leader that you’re always willing to learn and that your team will take part in on-going learning to improve skills, and grow.

  3. Model, Rehearse, Repeat: Because you’re the leader, you MUST model everything expect of your team, rehearse it together and repeat the process until it becomes routine.

  4. Create a mistake-ok environment: It is not only ok to show vulnerability, but it is a need for your team to learn that it is ok to make mistakes, as long as, the mistake is owned, you learn from it and work on fixing it.

  5. Create a speak up environment: A team where everyone feels they are heard and can bring issues to the table for conversations will have a stronger sense of belonging.
